Since 2020, he has been nationally recognized for his holistic, client-centered approach to financial planning. Originally from Nigeria and raised in Oakland, Chimmy moved to Sacramento as a youth and has since become a dedicated entrepreneur, founding Glyde Technologies and supporting multiple startups. Craig Adelman is the CEO of Mutual Housing California. With a distinguished career spanning public, private, and nonprofit sectors, Craig has a proven track record of driving transformative change in housing policy, finance, and development. Most recently, he served as Senior Principal at LeSar Development Consultants, where he led a dynamic team focused on housing affordability, scalable solutions, and sustainable development strategies. Prior to his role at LeSar, Craig was Managing Director at the Low Income Investment Fund (LIIF), overseeing the $90 million Strong, Prosperous, and Resilient Communities Challenge (SPARCC), a national initiative promoting equitable community investment. Craig’s public-sector experience includes his role as Deputy Director at the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Housing, where he led real estate components of HOPE SF, a $3 billion initiative that transformed urban neighborhoods through mixed-income housing, community facilities, and infrastructure investments. Craig’s extensive breadth of experience includes a decade with Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation, where he developed expertise in housing finance, public-private partnerships, and large-scale urban development. Craig has also previously served as Vice President at AF Evans Development, and AMCAL Multi-Housing, and Bank of America as a community development lender. A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, with a BA in Architecture and a focus on Business Administration, Craig has remained deeply committed to advancing equity and sustainability. Tejal Shah has had a deep commitment to the harmonious integration of nonprofit operations, property operations, and community-based services with safe, affordable housing, as she has demonstrated throughout her 25-year career. Tejal served previously served the last 3 years as the Vice President of Community Development with Mutual Housing. After spending a brief time teaching, she worked as a transitional housing case manager and a shelter supervisor at a domestic violence agency in Chicago. Then living in the Bay Area for 13 years, she worked most of that time at the East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC), a community development organization with affordable housing based in Oakland. During this time, she grew EBALDC’s social service, financial service, and community organizing programs in alignment with EBALDC’s mission to build Healthy Neighborhoods. Tejal has a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Arts in Social Sciences from University of Chicago. -

Joining Mutual Housing in 2024, Corinne is serving as Mutual Housing’s Chief Financial Officer and oversees our accounting and finance departments. She provides a diversity of leadership experience having previously worked with leading affordable housing nonprofits based in the California Bay Area, and most recently as Chief Financial Officer for United Way California Capital Region. Corinne’s pivotal roles in improving internal systems and enhancing overall efficiency in a variety of housing and health-oriented business settings provide critically timed thought leadership to Mutual Housing’s growing team. Corinne has over 30 years of professional experience, with over 10 years serving in executive positions. With a strong track record of securing housing financing and supporting housing stability programs, she brings demonstrated success having helped to manage $20M+ corporate budgets and generating annual operations cost savings in excess of $250k for multiple nonprofit organizations. Ms. Morrison also holds a rich understanding of Mutual Housing’s mission, operations, and financials having most recently served on the Mutual Housing California Board of Directors as Treasurer from 2020 to 2024. During her board service term, she held positions in both the Executive and Finance Committees. Corinne has additional work and volunteer experience in the core functions of business and nonprofit governance and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Biola University. “Starting out in my career, I was deeply affected by the notion that everyone deserves a place to call home,” Corinne recalls. “I like to remain rooted in the fact that making an impact on even one person’s wellbeing and stability is worth all the work that goes into the nonprofit work we do.” -

Leading the largest department at Mutual Housing California since 2021, Winter is part of our Executive team, responsible for directing, administering and coordinating the daily operational activities of our property management department. With scalable growth strategies as an important part of her role, Winter also helps build teams and implements necessary procedures to ensure optimal performance. She oversees maintenance, compliance, property management and training while ensuring the projects developed and acquired by Mutual Housing California remain fiscally sound, affordable and well-maintained. Bringing not only professional skills to the role but personal ones too, Winter’s own experience of being raised in project-based housing gives her a unique perspective and understanding of our residents' situations. Winter’s formative years were spent with her family in HUD housing and this first-hand experience of the affordable housing industry shaped her compassion and understanding of the lives and circumstances of Mutual Housing residents. She says: “Being raised in affordable housing helped pave the foundation for my role in life and career in affordable housing, tirelessly advocating for equitable treatment for all.” Gaining a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Winter’s early career was spent as a Montessori Master Teacher, a role which shaped her team-leading skills and approach in life to create environments and cultures for success. People-focused and a strategic thinker yet always with an open-mind, Winter takes a collaborative approach to her role, embracing creative solutions and independent thinking. Winter has worked in the affordable housing sector since 2006, holding leadership roles in Property Management and Compliance, working for both nonprofits and for-profits in Sacramento and the Bay Area. Working for two of the largest organizations in California, Winter is adept at leading through growth and has successfully embedded this into the culture of Mutual Housing. -

Ryan joined Mutual in 2023 and oversees its Housing Development division. He spent 15 years with New York City’s leading affordable nonprofit and led the development and management of over 3,000 units of affordable housing, totaling over $750 million. Ryan has cross divisional experience in project management, construction management, and property management. He is a leading policy voice for sustainable housing, lending his counsel to New York City Mayor’s Office of Sustainability, New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), and federal agencies. He is a national leader in affordable Passive House development including tenant in place rehab and modular projects. Since 2021, Kristen has contributed to Mutual Housing’s success by deepening relationships with service providers and fostering a unified approach to our mission and practices across all communities. She has worked closely with numerous community organizations to train staff in essential areas and has provided vital support for partner stabilization efforts during Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) lease-ups. As Vice President of Community Development, Kristen oversees the Resident Services, Community Organizing, and Community Programs, guiding teams in advancing resident stability and well-being through strong collaboration and continuous learning. Kristen holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and History from Purdue University and a Master’s in Applied Cultural Anthropology, where her work focused on Environmental Justice and supporting vulnerable populations. She began her housing and services career in 2010 with New Generation Management and LTHC Homeless Services in Indiana, later serving as Senior Property Manager for Mercy Housing before joining Mutual Housing. -

Providing communications support for the strategic growth of Mutual Housing California, Steven takes responsibility for liaising with journalists and the media, organizational partners, and inquiries from the general public. With a degree in Communications and Multimedia from California State University, his roles to date in the affordable housing arena have been diverse yet all centered around improving housing outcomes in the Sacramento region. Prior to joining us as Communications Coordinator in 2014, Steven worked with Mercy Housing, undertaking various roles including Resident Services Manager. Now as Director of Communications for Mutual Housing, Steven oversees strategic planning and day-to-day operations of the Communications department. Commenting on what his role means to him, he says: “Mutual Housing attracts team members who are equally passionate and talented. I feel tied to an unspoken bond around maximizing our individual impacts on the world through collaborating on something bigger than ourselves. A sense that together we can make positive change to systems of oppression and one day leave our pockets of Earth better than we found it.”
